Life Update with Instagram Photos

You may have noticed my posts have been very sparse, honestly I don't even remember the last time I wrote a posts, I had so many that were scheduled and they finally ran up, and lately I have just been so busy with. School, animals my husband, and work, that their has been no time to even blog about things when I really wanted to!

I so wanted to do a Halloween house tour, I have Friday the day after Halloween off, so maybe before I pack everything away I will snap some pictures to share!

With the Holidays coming up and working in the retail environment, I actually work in the administrative office of a retail store so my area does all the holiday hiring and training, ordering and much more, so during the busy months naturally I get more hours, so that has been crazy, and exciting at the same time, I always love when the holidays come around as crazy and busy as they can be.

I'm going back to school in January to get my Bachelors degree, so getting everything together for that has been crazy as well, I'm hoping it will only take me two years and I will be done!

Also my new puppy, well she is 6 months now just got spayed and had her hernia taken care of, so she is a cone for 2 weeks and not doing good at all, she hates it.

Anyways enough about all that, I was doing quite a bit of Halloween posts and then they sort of stopped, but I was still doing Halloween stuff, but just posting pictures on Instagram, so here are the photos I posted in October, follow me over there to keep up with me if I'm not posting on here!

Sasha got her first hair cut this month, and they put the most adorable candy corn bow in her hair, of course every time I went for a picture it was upside down. Also Sasha got surgery, this was the first night laying on the couch with a blanket and her cone, not a happy Sasha! She only has 9 more days to go with it on.
We went to the Pumpkin Patch, Carved Pumpkins, made pumpkin seeds, enjoyed fall candle scents, and made lots of yummy desserts!
I also found the perfect white bedding on clearance at Walmart for only $30. I didn't go in there looking for this and of course I went through the home isles and saw this, then saw the price tag and it went in my bag, then I also saw the cute little white pillows that were matching to the set on clearance for only $5 each! I love it so much!

Hopefully I will be back soon, I have some organizing projects, and thanksgiving crafts to come, and Christmas is coming up!

Scrapbook Paper Organization

This post will not be to long it really is just meant to be a quick tip, and something I found that maybe some of you will find useful and want to go pick up.

I'm an avid scrap booker, while I don't have an overwhelming collection, mostly because I buy as I go, but when things are on sale or I find something I love, I do buy it, so my collection of scrapbook paper has grown a little bit, and I was tired of it just being thrown in a drawer, or tucked away where I couldn't see it.

Then one day my husband and I were at the dollar store and I was there looking at organizational baskets and stuff, and then I went over to the school supply section when I saw this mesh paper organizer for $1 and thought this would be perfect!

I basically started by looking at the paper I did have, I threw away scraps that were piling up that I knew were to small to use for anything. I then placed everything back in and I think it looks really nice and organized on my desk!

Make Your Own Coasters

I have been wanting some cute coasters for a long time and let me tell you I have had one heck of a time even finding coasters in general, do they not make these anymore?!? So I pretty much gave up on coasters that's until I came across this pin on pinterest for these DIY Coasters

I thought to myself I could totally do this, I already had everything on hang except the tiles, so I went to my local Home Depot, and purchased 4 4X6 regular white tiles for $.69 cents each, I know some places sometimes let you take a few samples home so you may be able to pick them up for free!

The materials you will need are whatever number of tiles you want to have for coasters, mod podge, paint brush, and your choice of scrapbook paper.

First thing you want to do is trace around each tile onto the paper pattern you want to use.

Then all you do is apply mod podge to the tile, and apply your scrapbook paper, wait for that to dry and then apply a coat of mod podge over top to seal everything in, and enhance the color!
Then you will end up with beautiful coasters that work great!

Homemade Biscuits Supreme

My husband and I made these biscuits a few mornings ago in the hopes to use them for biscuits and gravy and then while they were in the oven we realized we have no mix left or sausage so that was out, so after the first batch came out we just tried them with some butter and a little salt and they were amazing! After we knew we were not having biscuits and gravy we decided to make egg sandwiches with meat and cheese, and they were amazing! I thought I would share the recipe with everyone, because there are so many things you can make, or use biscuits for!

Start by getting all your ingredients together
3 cups of flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
3/4 cup butter
1 cup milk

Start by mixing all your ingredients except the milk into a bowl, and then use a pastry blender or a fork, and mix until the mixture is a crumb consistency.

Make a well into the mixture and pour the cup of milk in, and stir until mixture is moist.

Knead dough on a floured surface a few times, and roll out until dough is 3/4 inch think.
You can now begin to either cut squares, or use Halloween themed cookie cutters to make your biscuits in shapes.
Bake for 10-14 mins or until they are a nice golden brown!

The delicious eggs, turkey and cheese sandwiches we made with the homemade biscuits.

Here is a Recipe card you can save and print out if you would like to!

Let me know if you have tried making your own biscuits, how did they turn out?

Fall Themed Magnetic Clothes Pins

Whew, what a mouth full for the title don't you think? I just wasn't sure how to title this without it being really long.

I'm back today with another Fall craft posts, these are mini fall themed clothespins, and I will show you a few ways I used these in my fall home decor!

The following materials you will need are some patterned fall themed paper, I used the leftovers from my Fall Art Project, fall themed punch art tools I chose a leave and pumpkin one just like I used in the fall art project, some mini or regular clothespins, and a hot glue gun!
The first thing you want to do is make some cut outs with whatever patterned paper you want to use, make a cutout for the front and back on the clothes pin, so I'm using 4 clothespins I cut out 8 shapes.
You basically now just want to hot glue the shapes onto the top of the clothespin.
I knew I wanted to use some of these to hang some leaves onto the fridge so I used some of my magnetic sheet and used my hole punch to make some little circle magnets to attach to the back of the shapes on the clothespins. You may need to use a couple at the top and along the actually clothes pin if you don't want them to slide down the fridge.
I then just took some faux leaves I got from Michael's one bunch went along way because I did a few projects with the leaves. Anyways I just took a few leaves and took the clothespin and pinned them to the leaves and hung a few on the fridge.
I also did the same thing except clothes pinned the leaves to our wedding flutes that are on our bookcase and it just added to the already fall-ness.

Do you love decorating with leaves in the fall?

Cute Construction Paper Pumpkin

October is in full swing and so are all the fall and Halloween crafts. When this time comes around I don't know about all of you but pumpkins are always on my mind, I probably have more pumpkin decor and crafts I've made than any one household needs, but I just can't resist!

This pumpkin craft is so inexpensive you can purchase everything at the dollar store, it's also a cute craft you can do with the kiddos!

You will need the following materials, orange, green and brown construction paper, a pen or pencil, scissors, and glue. I am using my hot glue gun because it dries faster and holds really well, but you can use regular glue to if you don't mind holding each piece until it dries!
The first thing you want to do is cut your orange piece of paper into about 1 inch stripes, make sure you cut between 20-30 to make sure you have enough for the shape of your pumpkin.
After that now you want to wrap each strip about your pen or pencil until you have a nice tight coiled circle.
Next you want to hold your coil very loosely and begin to allow it to unravel without completely letting go, you want to make sure you now have a large circle with all the coils visible.
Just do this step with each circle, and then hot glue the end piece to the last part of the orange strip so you just have a bunch of coiled circles now! Then just play around with all your circles until you get the shape of a pumpkin!
After you get the shape this is the hard and more time consuming part, you have to hot glue each circle piece to each other on all sides to keep the whole shape together!

After you get that done, you can then take a 5 inch piece of brown paper and fold that in half and hot glue that at the top in between 2 pieces of orange paper.
For the leaves to do the same thing as you did with the stem, just make them longer and hot glue them at the top as well on either side. I also hot glued a piece of string with a loop so I can hang it on the wall by my door entrance.
Have you done any Halloween Crafts this year yet?

Pop Rock Cupcakes

Begining of this year I bought one of those 365 a day calendars, the one I bought was all cupcakes so each day there is new cupcake recipe, or variations of the same recipe. I came across this one in August and just knew I had to make, it was one that really stood out and I have never made anything like this before so I thought it would be fun!

You will need to begin to gather your ingredients for the actual cupcakes.
1 cup of softened cutter
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 large eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla

These are super easy to make as the only step is to add all your ingredients together in a large mixing bowl, and use an electric mixer to mix everything together until your consistency is smooth and pale looking color.

Put those in the oven for 20 mins and they will be perfect, now let them cool for about 5 mins, and then take them out of your muffin tin and let them cool another 5 minutes before frosting.

While your cupcakes are still in the oven though you can begin to make your frosting.
For the frosting you will need:
1/2 cup softened butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Pop Rocks
Same thing you just add all your ingredients in a bowl and mix until mixture is smooth.
After your cupcakes are cooled down, you can begin to frost them, and if your like me take million pictures to use on your blog!

I hope you will try this, I thought they were delicious, these would also be really great for a kids party, you can even put the pop rocks in the mix to make it colorful inside!
