Creative Christmas Card Displays

Justin and I have been married for almost 2 years now and we are officially starting to receive Christmas card from family and friends, I have been wanting to display the cards in the house, while it's a little later this year I have found some of my favorites from the blog world that will give me some inspiration for next year.

The first one is by far the most simple and I could easily put this together with things I already own since I have a frame already not being used. At the end of this Christmas season I may have enough cards to fill  this up!

This bird cage card display is super cute, and I have seen this at places like TJ Maxx, Urban Outfitters, and Anthropology for a pretty inexpensive price, all you need is super clothespins and your good to go!
This DIY ribbon card display is also really simple as long as you have some ribbon and a door your good to go. Just got ahead and grab some festive Christmas ribbon and tape it to the top and bottom of your door, and then use tape to adhere your cards to the ribbon.
The last two are also really fun, the first one was found on the Martha Stewart site, all you need is a wooden reef circle which can be found at the dollar store, clothespins, ribbon and of course your Christmas cards, you want you can totally skip the wooden circle and just hot glue a bunch of clothes pins into a circle and then use the clothespins as the card holders still.

This one I just had to include there is so much Christmas cheer on one bulletin board!

Do you have a Christmas Card Display I should check out? If so please send me over I would love to see them!

Holiday Home Tour

I thought before the holidays are over I would share a few of my favorite spots in the house that we decorated this year, this is by far my favorite year that I have decorated this apartment, I just think everything came together nicely.
We didn't go all out this year just a few areas of the house, like the living room, and mostly our bedroom, there were a few things here and there in other parts of the house but we focused our attention on the living room and bedroom.
First up we have the Christmas Tree, this year I realized how small our Christmas Tree is, I'm hoping next year we can buy a taller and more full Christmas Tree, but we have had this one for going on I believe 5 years now and it's just a 6.5inch $19.98 tree from Wal-Mart and it's been going strong every since. I just want something that is a bit more full next year, if you don't pack this one with tons of garland and lights it's very sparse, but non the less I love how it came out this year.
Here are a few close up's of some of the ornaments on the tree. I was hoping this year to make a bunch of DIY ornaments for the tree this year but there was just no time, so I think during the after Christmas sales I am going to pick up some plain plastic ornaments from Michaels to have for next year. The panda ornament is a Betsey Johnson one that I picked up from Macy's 2 years ago on super clearance I think it only ended up being like $3, and the others are also from Macy's
Next up we have the stockings which I know are in a weird spot, but a few days ago my computer and desk were not on the wall where the stockings are, on a whim I moved around the living room, and the Christmas tree was in the corner next to the stockings, but I moved the tree over by our stairs and then there was no where really to hand the stockings so I left them where they are above my computer desk, but it looks alright for now since there are only 6 days till Christmas anyway, I will have to find a better spot for them next year!
Next is my favorite area that I decorated, the top of the book shelf. I took everything else off and put it away until Christmas is over. Justin and I have been collection nativity type pieces for some time now, and last year we decided we needed a main big piece to center everything else around, and I just love the way it came out.
Finally during the after Christmas sales last year I picked up a tube of 50 count ornaments and after decorating the tree in our room there were still some left over so I made a garland out of them and hung it above the bookcase, which my desk actually use to be in that spot, but I still liked it once I moved the bookshelf over there!
Lastly we have our bedroom, which I took pictures of the tree we have in there, but for some reason the bottom half of the lights were not working so the picture didn't look very good, but we did hang some lights above our bed, and also put up a mini Christmas tree on my nightstand.
I just love the way everything came out, show me your holiday house pictures

Earring Organization

Long time no talk..... I know there really are no excuses for my absences, I mean there are just life got in the way.. working.. spending time with my family, yada, yada. I meant to post more, just I had a bunch of posts scheduled then once those ran up I got super busy and just didn't have time to get on here much, but I'm back and I will try to get on and post at least once a week since the holidays are coming to an end soon. Tomorrow I will be having a small holiday house tour (just some pictures of what we have decorated in the house!

This post was actually meant to go up some time ago but I still had the pictures and I was in the mood to write again so I figured why not start back up with a fun organization post!

If you remember a while back in August I posted on the Jewelry Organization, well since then I have changed up the way I organize my earrings has the picture frame kept falling, so now I have a beautiful frame I need to find something to do with!

I had a 5 drawer container I was using for sample products that I found a home for and decided to use that for my earrings.

Firstly I has some liner left over from lining my kitchen cabinet, so I decided this would make a nice background and mostly to keep the earrings from moving around. I then cut the liner to size matching the size of the drawers perfectly and as easily as that I went ahead and placed my earrings in the drawers, I really like how this turned out!

Leave me some posts with your recent organization projects I would love to see them!

Life Update with Instagram Photos

You may have noticed my posts have been very sparse, honestly I don't even remember the last time I wrote a posts, I had so many that were scheduled and they finally ran up, and lately I have just been so busy with. School, animals my husband, and work, that their has been no time to even blog about things when I really wanted to!

I so wanted to do a Halloween house tour, I have Friday the day after Halloween off, so maybe before I pack everything away I will snap some pictures to share!

With the Holidays coming up and working in the retail environment, I actually work in the administrative office of a retail store so my area does all the holiday hiring and training, ordering and much more, so during the busy months naturally I get more hours, so that has been crazy, and exciting at the same time, I always love when the holidays come around as crazy and busy as they can be.

I'm going back to school in January to get my Bachelors degree, so getting everything together for that has been crazy as well, I'm hoping it will only take me two years and I will be done!

Also my new puppy, well she is 6 months now just got spayed and had her hernia taken care of, so she is a cone for 2 weeks and not doing good at all, she hates it.

Anyways enough about all that, I was doing quite a bit of Halloween posts and then they sort of stopped, but I was still doing Halloween stuff, but just posting pictures on Instagram, so here are the photos I posted in October, follow me over there to keep up with me if I'm not posting on here!

Sasha got her first hair cut this month, and they put the most adorable candy corn bow in her hair, of course every time I went for a picture it was upside down. Also Sasha got surgery, this was the first night laying on the couch with a blanket and her cone, not a happy Sasha! She only has 9 more days to go with it on.
We went to the Pumpkin Patch, Carved Pumpkins, made pumpkin seeds, enjoyed fall candle scents, and made lots of yummy desserts!
I also found the perfect white bedding on clearance at Walmart for only $30. I didn't go in there looking for this and of course I went through the home isles and saw this, then saw the price tag and it went in my bag, then I also saw the cute little white pillows that were matching to the set on clearance for only $5 each! I love it so much!

Hopefully I will be back soon, I have some organizing projects, and thanksgiving crafts to come, and Christmas is coming up!

Scrapbook Paper Organization

This post will not be to long it really is just meant to be a quick tip, and something I found that maybe some of you will find useful and want to go pick up.

I'm an avid scrap booker, while I don't have an overwhelming collection, mostly because I buy as I go, but when things are on sale or I find something I love, I do buy it, so my collection of scrapbook paper has grown a little bit, and I was tired of it just being thrown in a drawer, or tucked away where I couldn't see it.

Then one day my husband and I were at the dollar store and I was there looking at organizational baskets and stuff, and then I went over to the school supply section when I saw this mesh paper organizer for $1 and thought this would be perfect!

I basically started by looking at the paper I did have, I threw away scraps that were piling up that I knew were to small to use for anything. I then placed everything back in and I think it looks really nice and organized on my desk!

Make Your Own Coasters

I have been wanting some cute coasters for a long time and let me tell you I have had one heck of a time even finding coasters in general, do they not make these anymore?!? So I pretty much gave up on coasters that's until I came across this pin on pinterest for these DIY Coasters

I thought to myself I could totally do this, I already had everything on hang except the tiles, so I went to my local Home Depot, and purchased 4 4X6 regular white tiles for $.69 cents each, I know some places sometimes let you take a few samples home so you may be able to pick them up for free!

The materials you will need are whatever number of tiles you want to have for coasters, mod podge, paint brush, and your choice of scrapbook paper.

First thing you want to do is trace around each tile onto the paper pattern you want to use.

Then all you do is apply mod podge to the tile, and apply your scrapbook paper, wait for that to dry and then apply a coat of mod podge over top to seal everything in, and enhance the color!
Then you will end up with beautiful coasters that work great!
