Desk Organization

I seriously can't believe it has been since December since I have posted anything?!?! Where does the time go? I was stunned when I looked at my blog and saw a Christmas post on the front, I'm not going to bore you with the reasons why I have not been here, just the usually been busy with other priorities! I keep trying to make goals with this blog, to post on certain days, or every other day, 3 times a week, etc.... It never seems to work out so I am just stating now I will try to post at least once a week, it can be any day. Now that it is summer I feel I can balance working full time and blogging once a week. I have a lot of fun posts coming!

Anyways to get on with the business of today which is my desk organization. I love to have a space that makes me happy I mean who doesn't? I recently cleared my whole desk area and took things that I already had around my house and added them to my desk space to just make it more fun.

Firstly I love this desk I scored at a thrift shop for only $50, it was a dark wooden color when I got it, and I had really been wanting a nice white desk, so I just bought some paint, and painted it. I just love the style, and especially love the big drawer in the middle to house things.

Everything that I have decorated my desk with were items that I already owned and got for very inexpensive prices! I am obsessed with owls right now and have been for awhile, on my bookcase in our living room I have a few owl d├ęcor pieces on there, I had this one down there as well but thought it would look cute on my desk, and it does! The owl I bought from Michaels probably over a year ago, but they also have cute items like this in there home section. I also have a silver candle holder with a vanilla candle which are from Ikea. Then I like to keep my planner on my desk when it's not in my purse, for when I need to right dates down and such.

The of course we have my computer, I remember way back in the day when I was a little girl desk top computers were the thing, then everyone got laptops including myself, and then when I saw these new desktop computers I was all over it, I love that it is an all-in-one, so there is no big bulky tower and monitor, its very sleek, and I love it. I still have my laptop for easy accessibility. I also just have a wireless keyboard and mouse because the one's that came with it were awful and had cords. I hate cords! On the right side of my desk I keep a mason jar candle from Bath & Body works, I believe this one is in frosted cupcake. I also have a very old picture of my kitty when we first got him, he was so tiny, and finally some fake flowers I picked up from the dollar store, in a white case I got from Goodwill.

The last touch which brings everything together are these two mirrors above my desk that I scored from Target awhile back on clearance, they are only a little over $5 a piece! I just love them so much, and they fit perfectly with my theme!
I hope you all enjoyed this, do you have a desk organization post, send me the link I just love owing over fun desk tops!

Creative Christmas Card Displays

Justin and I have been married for almost 2 years now and we are officially starting to receive Christmas card from family and friends, I have been wanting to display the cards in the house, while it's a little later this year I have found some of my favorites from the blog world that will give me some inspiration for next year.

The first one is by far the most simple and I could easily put this together with things I already own since I have a frame already not being used. At the end of this Christmas season I may have enough cards to fill  this up!

This bird cage card display is super cute, and I have seen this at places like TJ Maxx, Urban Outfitters, and Anthropology for a pretty inexpensive price, all you need is super clothespins and your good to go!
This DIY ribbon card display is also really simple as long as you have some ribbon and a door your good to go. Just got ahead and grab some festive Christmas ribbon and tape it to the top and bottom of your door, and then use tape to adhere your cards to the ribbon.
The last two are also really fun, the first one was found on the Martha Stewart site, all you need is a wooden reef circle which can be found at the dollar store, clothespins, ribbon and of course your Christmas cards, you want you can totally skip the wooden circle and just hot glue a bunch of clothes pins into a circle and then use the clothespins as the card holders still.

This one I just had to include there is so much Christmas cheer on one bulletin board!

Do you have a Christmas Card Display I should check out? If so please send me over I would love to see them!
